Basic Surgical Instruments:
A variety of surgical instruments available to the veterinary surgeon. Although this section will review many instruments, several more are available. A variety of instruments are typically found in a basic surgical pack. These typically include towel clamps, a scalpel handle (and blade), a needle driver, thumb forceps, suture scissors, tissue cutting scissors and hemostatic forceps (ususally some mosquito forceps, a few crile forceps and maybe some Carmalt forceps). Such a pack could be used to perform an ovariohysterectomy or to explore and debride a wounds.
