Chapter 2: Table of Contents

Sterile Draping of the Limb for Transport

Prior to transporting the patient from the preparation area to the surgical suite, the prepared limb is covered with sterile drapes or towels to prevent inadvertent contamination during transportation. The covered limb is carefully released from the hanging position for transportation. The limb is hung once again after the patient has been moved to the surgical suite.
